Job Summary:
This is a tenure-track position in public administration.
Marist University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Public Administration to join the School of Management beginning fall 2026. This full-time tenure track position will involve teaching and advising primarily online graduate courses in the Master of Public Administration Program and maintaining a high level of professional activity through research and service in the candidates area of emphasis. Teaching in the School of Managements undergraduate programs is also expected. The School of Management will be accepting applications immediately for this position.
We welcome candidates who will place a strong emphasis on quality teaching in a small class setting. Our typical class size is fewer than 25 students. The expected course load for our faculty is 21 credits typically distributed as a 3:4 course load. Applicants should have an active research agenda that leads to high-quality peer reviewed publications and presentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Terminal degree in public administration or closely related field (Ph.D. or A.B.D. with projected completion by December 2026).
The ideal candidate will have training and experience in teaching courses in quantitative methods (statistics) economics foundations/introductory courses in Public Administration and/or analytics.
Essential Functions:
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Maintaining an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publications. Advising students taking part in service activities and serving on committees as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching public management related courses and professional experience as a practitioner are highly desirable.
