Creates and implements resident activities and events. Manages activity staff schedules and coordinates volunteer staffing and activities.Job Description
Creates and views resident care plans around activities. Completes activity assessments and Minimum Data Set (MDS) questions as required. Reports problems concerns and information to leadership in an appropriate and timely manner. Communicates department activities and information to employees. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strives to improve the quality of life for the residents by providing appropriate meaningful activities and interventions on a one-on-one and/or group basis. Administers the monthly activity calendar. Regularly elicits residents input into activity planning and keeps activities well organized and upbeat following all state required activities such as music craft and spiritual activities. Partakes in activities such as fishing nature walks pet therapy music therapy and others in order to support residents and ensure they are functioning at an optimal level while also maintaining dignity and identity. Assists with simple nursing procedures and transporting residents to and from rooms.
Demonstrates leadership abilities such as developing and motivating people. Possesses the ability to work with strong willed residents and/or behavioral issues. Maintains strong critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Prioritizes responsibilities while working autonomously. Plans and oversees the utilization of resources and designs of work processes.
Qualifications
