Job Description
Chattanooga Zoo is looking for an exceptional Education Assistant with skills related to working with a variety of age groups in both informal and classroom learning settings. Normal duties will include day to day scheduling and leading education programs both onsite and offsite for various groups. Educator must have experience working with curriculum and following all applicable standards. Knowledge with STEM programs is preferred.
This position will be required to work weekends and holidays as the schedule necessitates. Candidate must be able to work independently and lead a group. Candidate must also have excellent speaking skills to interact with guests teachers and students.
Candidate should have 3-6 months experience in the field is preferred and must be comfortable working with and around animals. Candidate must have dynamic public speaking skills with diverse groups of people. The Candidate must be able lift bend and twist 25 lbs. this position requires long periods of standing moving materials throughout the zoo and frequent walks around the zoo grounds as well as sitting in an office setting position will be responsible for handling animals on a daily basis.
