Pratt & Whitneys Power Thermal Management Systems (PTMS) Discipline which is part of Engine Design & System Integration Controls & Diagnostics Systems (EDSI/CDS) /Power Thermal Management Systems (PTMS) is seeking an Integrated Product Team Lead for the Rear Buffer Sub-System. The selected candidate will architect model develop and integrate the rear buffer subsystem with the engine.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead engineer for assigned subsystem with overall responsibility for subsystem design and integration.
  • Leading cross cross-functional team with members from other engineering organizations.
  • Architecting subsystem to meet government and airframe requirements.
  • Modeling subsystems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Defining interfaces between the engine and subsystem and working with customers.
  • Defining subsystem and component requirements for module centers and suppliers as well as requirement verification criteria and plans.
  • Ensuring subsystems/parts meet system performance weight cost volume schedule and Reliability Maintainability and Safety (RMS) requirements.
  • Travel up to 20% (Domestic).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Physics or in a related field and 8 years ofprior related engineering experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years ofprior related engineering experience.
  • Within the last 2 years working experience in gas or liquid sub-systems and heat exchangers.
  • U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience with MATLAB Simulink MS Office.
  • Experience with Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) or Dynamic Modeling Laboratory (Dymola) or other turbomachinery simulations.
  • Experience with one or more of the following engine subsystems: bleed air systems buffer air systems fuel systems lubrication systems.
  • Experience with decomposition of customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements.
  • Experience generating requirement verification criteria and plans.
  • Experience integrating subsystems with engines or aircraft.

  • Work Schedule: Standard work schedule; however 9/80 and 4/10 schedules may be available subject to approval and program needs.

  • Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) Commercial Engines Programs (CE) and Military Engines Programs (ME): The EDSI Commercial Engines and Military Engines organizations are focused on delivering systems solutions to meet customer requirements driving engineering quality and productivity and developing the next generation if systems engineer. EDSI is responsible for the integration of components modules and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems.
  • Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS): CDS develops complex cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines including power and thermal management Systems and auxiliary power units. CDS also develops advanced diagnostic & health management systems to monitor our products forecast events and help facilitate MRO operations. With growing emphasis on sustainability CDS is on the forefront of system development for hybrid and electric propulsion.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD - 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
