THE POSITION: COM INVENTORY CONTROL LEADER

The Customer Owned Material (COM) Inventory Control Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating all inventory activities related to COM ensuring accurate tracking movement and utilization of materials throughout the production cycle. This role serves as the key liaison between manufacturing logistics and order management teams to ensure COM inventory integrity and availability while supporting production efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions of the position may include:

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming stored and consumed COM inventory using internal systems (e.g. e-PIC Tiger Link).
  • Monitor and reconcile COM inventory levels ensuring alignment between physical stock and system records.
  • Lead the physical receiving labeling storage and tracking of COM to ensure traceability and prevent material loss.
  • Schedule and prepare COM batches for manufacturing based on production schedules and inventory availability.
  • Coordinate with Order Management and other necessary partners (as defined by standard procedures) to confirm material specifications quantities and readiness.
  • Serve as the point of contact for discrepancies damage or non-conformance in COM inventory to the internal teams.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts on COM and report discrepancies to Production and Quality teams.
  • Update and maintain dashboards related to COM inventory status and order progress.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for COM inventory flow storage practices and tracking accuracy.
  • Provide training to team members on proper handling and documentation of COM.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control material management or production support preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience managing customer-supplied or specialty materials is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing inventory systems and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices preferred.
