About Us
NEPEAN Building & Infrastructure (a division of NEPEAN) represents iconic brands - Galintel Weldlok and Galserv which services industries across Civil Architectural Mining Construction and Galvanising.
Over the last 40 years Galintel has proudly produced lintels that are smarter stronger and more durable right here in Australia.
Galserv has provided Hot-Dip Galvanising services in Sydney since 1963 and is currently one of the largest Hot-Dip Galvanisers in Australia and a founding member of the Galvanizers Association of Australia.
Weldlok has been designing and suppling grating handrailing and steel flooring to the infrastructure civil mining and fabrication industries for over 60 years.
Our Opportunity
Galintel Galserv and Weldlok are seeking an HSEQ Coordinator to take accountability for all health safety and quality tasks while continuing to develop a safety-focused culture in the workshop. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Yagoona NSW.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop implement and update safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Focus on continuous improvement initiatives including taking responsibility for the management of NCRs and the required corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents incidents and near misses to ICAM standard where required to understand root cause and recommend solutions to issues improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Balance the approach between managing high frequency/low consequence risks v low frequency/high consequence risk.
- Return to Work Coordinator duties Doctor/First Aid management and claims processing for site.
- Conduct training and presentations regarding health and safety matters and to communicate effectively lessons or improvements.
- Champion a safety-first culture and mindset but promoting best practice and conducting regular training and improvement sessions.
Future opportunities within the group may also present for the right candidate.
The Right Person
This position will report directly to our National HSEQ Manager who will guide and mentor you in all aspects of HSEQ compliance. This position is ideal for a proactive and engaged Safety professional who has proven experience in the development implementation and monitoring of risk management tools and a strong knowledge of safe working systems rules and procedures. If you are looking to expand your knowledge of HSEQ and gather experience to propel your career this is an ideal opportunity.
To be considered for this opportunity the right person will have:
- Completion of Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety is desirable but not mandatory.
- Be comfortable in a manufacturing facility taking a hands-on safety approach.
- Some experience in a HSEQ related position ideally in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence relevant stakeholders.
- Computer literacy skills and competent with MS Office. Previous experience with PRONTO would be highly advantageous.
- Enjoy multi-tasking and able to adapt to the needs of a thriving business.
- Valid Drivers License.
