Solano County Behavioral Health dedicates itself to the care of Solano residents to help them remain in the community so that they can progress in their recovery and benefit from natural supports avoiding institutionalization. Behavioral Health provides psychiatric services to Solano Community in an integrated health care environment in three adult and child outpatient clinics located in Vallejo Fairfield and Vacaville.

The Clinical Services Associate provides mental health treatment services for mental emotional behavioral and chemically dependent disorders in in-patient or out-patient settings including assessment diagnosis crisis intervention individual and group counseling non-medical psychotherapy and initiation of involuntary holds; provides and oversees both treatment and continuing care; prepares reports and maintains records related to patient or client services; and performs related duties as required. Some positions in this class may provide substance abuse treatment services.
Non-direct services positions
Some assignments may include quality and performance improvement of the system of care to improve member outcomes customer service compliance and high quality service delivery. The incumbent participates in variable activities based on state mandates and program needs that may include evaluation of program delivery and outcomes offers technical assistance to teams and staff on best practices facilitating compliance audits or fidelity measurements updating policy and procedures evaluating data and developing processes to track positive outcomes and state-required metrics. The candidate should have clinical experience as well as interests around change management processes data collection/analysis training facilitation policy and report writing. The candidate must be comfortable working in a supportive/consultant role with colleagues teams CBOs and the community to improve partnerships and support systems change.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated and community-driven professional who is passionate about providing quality mental health services primarily case management and rehabilitative services. The candidate should have a strong background in mental health related settings providing direct services to mentally or emotionally disabled persons. The ability to understand how to implement and oversee a patient treatment plan with compassionate care while adhering to local regulatory guidelines. This is the unlicensed entry/working level within the Mental Health Clinician classification series.
The CSA should be comfortable working as a part of a larger treatment team including registered and licensed clinicians treating psychiatrist and external partners take direction from the lead clinician and/or Clinical supervisor. The CSA must also work well independently and adept at managing competing demands multiple priorities and reflect the Countys Core Values.
Experience:No experience required
Education/Training:Possession of a masters degree in social work counseling psychology or a related field of study which would qualify for approval by the California State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as a registered Marriage Family Therapist Intern or Associate Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
ORA bachelors degree in social work counseling psychology or a related field of study ANDtwo years of experience performing counseling or rehabilitative services for mentally emotionally and/or chemically dependent clients may be substituted for a masters degree.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Certification: Within six (6) months of hire whichever is later all non-licensed or non-certified employees providing counseling services in an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) program must be registered to obtain certification as an Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor and/or Certified Addiction Specialist (formally known as AOD counselor) with a certifying organization approved by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals -CCAPP (formally known as Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs). Registrants shall complete certification as a substance use disorder (SUD) Counselor Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor and/or Certified Addiction Specialist (formally known as AOD counselor) within five (5) years of the date of registration.
Note:Failure to obtain such required license within the legally specified timelines shall result in termination or reassignment if such a vacancy exists and the incumbent meets the minimum requirements for the vacant position. (Such action will be taken in accordance with Civil Service Commission rules).
