Job Duties
Maintains and cleans equipment checks equipment function and report problems to supervisor.
Performs routine EKGs on assigned nursing units and responds to stat requests promptly.
Verifies orders and identifies patient as required by NBMC policy.
Assures that EKG tracings are properly labeled and checks quality of tracing before presenting to the nurse responsible for the patients care and cardiologist for interpretation.
Performs Holter monitor placement removal data scanning and generation of reports for interpretation.
Performs pacemaker evaluations.
Performs ambulatory blood pressure monitoring with report generation
Checks files for prior electrocardiograms and presents entire file to physician for interpretation.
Performs treadmill stress testing.
Collects electrocardiograms performed by ER staff and laboratory staff daily.
Enters charges into Paragon System.
Understands and adheres to Cardiology Department Standard Operating Procedures.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.
Understands and adheres to the Medical Centers Code of Conduct.
Familiar with the Medical Centers Mission Vision and Values Statements.
OTHER JOB DUTIES
Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education
High school graduate or equivalent.
EKG certification preferred.
Graduation from a cardiology technician training program is preferred or minimum experience obtained
Experience
Minimum of one year EKG and advanced cardiology testing experience.
Skills
Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks reads and writes English to the extent required by the position
JOB SETTING/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Works in well-lighted temperature controlled patient-treatment areas; requires standing for long periods; the noise level is usually moderate; work is fast paced.
Subject to shift rotation.
Subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens dust fumes odors mists gasses biological mechanical electrical chemical and other hazardous materials.
The incumbent is expected to adhere to the Hospitals Drug and Smoke Free work environment and to adhere to OSHA mandates and precautionary measures.
Occasional prolonged standing/walking; occasional bending stooping reaching etc.
Salary commensurate with experience within posted range.
$20.77 to $24.13/ Hour
