Job Description
Accountant manages analyzes and reports on a companys financial transactions ensuring accurate record-keeping tax compliance and overall financial health. They prepare and maintain financial statements conduct audits handle accounts payable and receivable and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Preparing and maintaining financial statements (balance sheets income statements cash flow statements) and reports.
Record Keeping: Ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records including accounts payable and receivable.
Tax Compliance: Managing tax filings ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Auditing: Conducting audits and risk assessments to ensure financial integrity.
Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement.
Budgeting: Assisting in the development and management of budgets.
Financial Advice: Providing financial advice to management to support decision-making.
Treasury Management: Managing daily cash flow and payments.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and other relevant regulations.
Skills Required:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting principles financial reporting tax regulations and accounting software.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy and meticulousness in record-keeping and reporting.
Communication Skills: Effective communication to present financial information and collaborate with stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies and challenges.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
