Job Description

Document Clerk

Contribute to a major insurance firm in this on-site administrative support role focused on mail handling document imaging and data classification. Ideal for detail-oriented professionals with clerical experience strong customer service skills and the ability to manage confidential information in a fast-paced setting.

What is in it for you:

Hourly salary of $16.41.
4-month contract.
Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
On-site work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Open prepare and sort all incoming mail for digital imaging and further processing.
Scan documents using high-speed imaging equipment.
Classify and analyze document content by business unit or work type (e.g. Individual Life Wealth Management Affinity GSRS Bank Group).
Apply appropriate tracking methods to specific mail streams.
Monitor select workflow queues and resolve imaging issues in collaboration with business units.
Maintain document confidentiality and ensure high quality of service.
Troubleshoot minor hardware/software issues with office equipment as needed.
Provide a consistent and efficient workflow while meeting tight deadlines and service level agreements.
Deliver excellent customer service and act as a liaison between Office Services and business unit stakeholders.

What you will need to succeed:

1 year of administrative or clerical experience.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced level of English and French for handling internal communications and reviewing documentation.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to recognize and classify a variety of documents.
Effective working both independently and within a team.
Capable of managing fluctuating volumes and setting short-term priorities.
Comfortable operating office equipment and troubleshooting minor issues.
Familiarity with tools such as AWD CICS Lotus Notes IAS Compass or InfoDirect.
Experience in mailing or courier services (e.g. UPS Canada Post).
