Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bilingual Superintendent to oversee and manage shell construction projects in the Tampa area. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish. . This role will focus on the structural scope of work including sitework foundations concrete slabs masonry framing and roofing. The ideal candidate will bring strong field experience technical knowledge of Florida building practices and a proven ability to manage teams schedules and budgets effectively during the structural phases of construction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing shell construction for multifamily or commercial buildings.
  • Strong understanding of Florida structural requirements including wind load impact resistance and soil conditions.
  • Knowledge of formwork rebar placement concrete mix standards and CMU construction.
  • Experience managing trades such as sitework concrete masonry framing trusses and roofing.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight & Coordination:
  • Manage all aspects of shell construction including excavation concrete masonry framing and roofing.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules specific to shell work phases.
  • Coordinate with general contractors representative inspectors and subcontractors to ensure timely execution.
  • Permitting & Compliance:
  • Ensure all shell work complies with Florida Building Code local permitting requirements and OSHA regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate structural inspections and concrete pours.
  • Quality & Safety Management:
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress safety and workmanship.
  • Enforce quality control standards for concrete masonry and structural systems.
  • Oversee safety protocols and conduct toolbox talks with crews as needed.
  • Budget & Procurement:
  • Manage budgets and cost tracking for shell-related scopes.
  • Procure materials and services for structural trades (concrete CMU block lumber etc.).
  • Approve shell-related invoices change orders and subcontractor payments.
  • Communication & Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates to PM on shell progress and milestones.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs safety reports photos and material delivery records.
  • Track crew performance labor hours and productivity benchmarks.
  • Communicate delays change conditions or jobsite issues to project leadership.


Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction. Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required. Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Ability to lead diverse crews and subcontractors with professionalism and clarity. Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant construction or engineering degree preferred. Valid driver s license and ability to travel to various job sites in the Tampa area.

Education

3-5 years of experience as a mechanic (either in a shop or on the road) Valid Driver s License with clean motor vehicle record. Previous experience managing a shop, including inventory control, is a big plus
