Job Description
- Seeking a hands-on self-directed IT Infrastructure Support Specialist to manage maintain and support its technology environment.
- This individual will play a central role in maintaining daily IT operations ensuring stability of hardware and software systems and supporting long-term technology goals including system upgrades disaster recovery planning and infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support maintenance and repair for:
- Personal computers
- File and email servers
- Printers and networked devices
- Active Directory and DHCP systems
- Perform break-fix support and preventative maintenance on:
- Windows operating systems
- Network and internet-connected applications
- Install configure and support:
- Network cabling and devices (e.g. switches routers)
- Network security measures and internet access devices
- New computer systems peripherals and software packages
- Support IT compliance needs including LEADS audit and certification processes
- Participate in short-term and long-term IT planning and project execution
- Contribute to disaster recovery preparation and testing
- Recommend improvements or additional IT services that benefit city operations
- Document systems procedures and incidents clearly.
Requirements
Qualifications Required:
- 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure or desktop/network support roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS Active Directory DHCP and email systems
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware software and network issues
- Familiar with installing and managing basic network cabling and equipment
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience required:
- Experience in public sector or municipal IT environments
- Familiarity with LEADS or similar law enforcement IT compliance frameworks
- Exposure to disaster recovery planning
- Certifications such as CompTIA A Network Security Microsoft or Cisco (CCNA)
