Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Integration Engineer that can provide expertise in integrating installing configuring upgrading compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.


Location: Annapolis Junction MD

Travel Required: No

Salary Range


The projected compensation range for this position is 191K to 230K (annualized USD).

Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to location the individual s particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirement



Position Description

The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for implementing a Zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) solution as part of an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for complex High Performance Computing (HPC) systems. The primary focus of this position is the automation of the installation configuration and deployment of GOTS COTS and FOSS products packages and libraries.


Capabilities


The Software Integration Engineer in this role shall possess the following capabilities:


  • Ability to integrate install configure upgrade compile and support COTS/GOTS software.

  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.

  • Update software for sustainment support.

  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.

  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.

  • Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.

  • Working knowledge of CM tools web documentation and issue tracking.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.


Requirements

Required Skills

  • Experience with the Linux CLI

  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes

  • Experience performing Linux System Administration tasks including installation configuration and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software packages and libraries

  • Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment

  • General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute network memory and storage components

  • Experience with CI/CD principles methodologies and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

  • Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills


  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA Confluence)

  • Familiar with Agile software development principles methodologies and best practices

  • Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana


Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating installing configuring upgrading compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

OR

  • The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience.

OR

  • An industry recognized professional certification as defined in the TT0s may substitute as one (1) year experience. A Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years experience.

A Bachelors degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience OR A High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area). OR A Masters degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience OR A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience. Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management. Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics
