We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our personal injury legal team as an Entry-Level Medical Lien Reduction Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in supporting clients by negotiating reductions on medical liens and provider bills related to personal injury claims. You will work closely with attorneys case managers and medical providers to ensure fair settlement outcomes while maximizing the client s net recovery.
Review & Analyze Medical Bills and Liens
Evaluate itemized billing statements from hospitals physicians imaging centers chiropractic facilities and surgery centers.
Cross-check charges for CPT code accuracy and identify excessive or duplicate billing.
Determine balances owed under lien Letter of Protection (LOP) or subrogation rights.
Negotiation & Communication
Initiate and maintain communication with medical providers billing departments and third-party lien holders to negotiate reductions.
Provide documentation and legal justification to support requested reductions.
Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor in all communications.
Documentation & Case Management
Track all lien resolution activities in the case management system.
Upload and organize incoming and outgoing correspondence and reduction confirmations.
Coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely resolution prior to case disbursement.
Client-Facing Coordination
Work with the legal team to explain medical reductions to clients in plain language.
Assist with finalizing client disbursement figures and settlement memos.
Required:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and data accuracy.
Basic understanding of medical billing terms personal injury process or legal terminology.
Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Docs Sheets).
Ability to multitask in a high-volume deadline-driven environment.
Preferred but Not Required:
Associate s or Bachelor s degree in health administration legal studies or related field.
Previous experience in medical billing insurance claims or personal injury law firm.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
