Position Overview
A leading pharmaceutical company is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Research and Development Manager to join the Quality Control team. You will perform critical testing of raw materials in-process samples and finished products (both locally manufactured and imported) ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company SOPs. Your work will directly impact product safety efficacy and patient health.
Requirements
About the Role
Conduct physicochemical microbiological and analytical tests on raw materials intermediates and finished products (tablets injections syrups etc.).
Verify quality of imported products against COAs (Certificates of Analysis) and regulatory specifications.
Ensure all testing aligns with NAFDAC WHO-GMP ISO 17025 and company protocols.
Monitor stability studies and environmental conditions (e.g. cleanroom validation).
Maintain accurate lab records test reports and QC documentation for audits.
Prepare and review SOPs validation protocols and risk assessments.
Operate and calibrate lab instruments (HPLC UV-Vis autoclaves incubators).
Adhere to biosafety chemical safety and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
Work with production procurement and regulatory teams to resolve quality issues.
Support product registration/testing for imported goods with NAFDAC/SON.
About You
You hold a Bachelor s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) OR related fields (Biochemistry Microbiology Chemistry).
You have a minimum of 3 years in a pharmaceutical QC laboratory or similar GMP environment.
You have a Valid license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). PCN registration is a plus.
You are proficient in HPLC GC dissolution testing microbial limit tests and sterility testing.
You possess knowledge of pharmacopoeial standards (USP BP IP).
You are familiar with imported product clearance/NAFDAC documentation.
You are proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
