Job Description

The West Chester Area School Districthas an Assistant Principal position available at the secondary level:


1.0 - Assistant Principal-Stetson Middle School

The Assistant Principal may observe and supervise staff; recommend and administer the approved master schedule; coordinate and administer local and state assessments; administer the attendance and discipline programs of the school; arrange for all substitute teachers; coordinate the schools Multi-Tiered System of Supports; apply student discipline; approve and coordinate the necessary arrangements for all the special use of school facilities; administer programs dealing with pupil progress reports and records; administer the extra-curricular program follow through with approved budget items;; teacher evaluations and carry out other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal or the Superintendents designee Each Assistant Principal will be responsible for a class of students.

QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To successfully perform this position a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement training skill and/or ability necessary.

  • Secondary Principal Certification for High School Assistant Principal; Elementary or Secondary Principal Certification
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret general periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other administrators teachers parents students Board members support staff colleagues and outside professional contacts
  • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts; ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions; proficiency in the use of technology for individual and system management communication and research; proficiency in presentation technology to enhance small and large group information and demonstration sessions
  • Skills in coordinating and evaluating staff use of technology

Salary Range: As per the Administrators Compensation Plan
