This role emphasizes culturally responsive arts- and movement-integrated instruction that is grounded in student data and supports the diverse needs of all learners. The Teacher Specialist will collaborate with staff students and families to promote equity engagement and positive student Duties & Responsibilities:Teach daily arts and movement lessons with a strong emphasis on science integration Develop and implement instructional materials that reflect student interests abilities and needs Create a culturally responsive safe and engaging classroom environment Use inquiry-based hands-on and play-centered teaching strategies Build strong relationships with students to support behavior management using restorative practices Monitor and assess student growth maintaining accurate and complete records Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities Collaborate with the school team to analyze data and plan lessons that improve outcomes Participate in coaching and teacher evaluation processes with school administrators Attend school-sponsored events such as Open House as agreed with school leadership Model equitable and inclusive instructional practices Support the development of students social-emotional learning and self-regulationKnowledge Skills & Abilities: Deep understanding of child development and arts-integrated instruction Ability to implement culturally responsive teaching strategies Strong relationship-building and classroom management skills Knowledge of restorative practices and social-emotional learning Experience using data to drive instruction and improve student outcomes Ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of learners Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to equity and inclusive practices Familiarity with hands-on inquiry-based and center-based learning modelsQualifications & Requirements: Valid Massachusetts teaching license SEI Endorsement required Bachelors degree in education or a related field; Masters preferred Experience teaching in urban or diverse school settings Experience in arts movement or interdisciplinary instruction preferred Demonstrated success in supporting student academic and social-emotional developmentEqual Opportunity EmployerLawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
