The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching Math and a strong understanding of the diverse needs of students particularly those with social and emotional challenges. The position is focused on teaching courses in: Geometry and Algebra are seeking a highly organized experienced professional candidate to serve in the role of high school math teacher for grades 10-12. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents with social and/or emotional challenges IEP writing and implementation and participation in Team meetings. This position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive supportive and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic and emotional development of all England Academy is a private special education therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed supports for students with a variety of complex social/emotional disabilities ranging from grades 7-12. New England Academy offers students a supportive non-behavioral learning environment that addresses their executive functioning and social emotional needs in the context of an academically rigorous curriculum in order to prepare for post secondary Responsibilities:- Implement an engaging and effective math curriculum for high school students.- Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.- Evaluate and assess student progress through a variety of methods including quizzes exams projects and class participation.- Collaborate with counselors special education staff and administrators to provide tailored support for students.- Use strategies to provide a safe supportive environment that promotes emotional well-being.- Establish clear expectations for behavior and performance and consistently provide a predictable academic routine.- Provide differentiated instruction and flexibility as well as accommodations for students with social and emotional challenges.- Foster positive relationships with students to help build trust and self-esteem.- Familiarity with relevant technology tools to enhance science instruction and student engagement
