AWS Systems Development Engineers are passionate about both development and operations with a strong desire to learn and be curious about Amazons services and process. This is a true DevOps role; you will be both allowed and expected to follow problems all the way to the end and work on implementing real solutions and not just quick fixes. A candidate who wants to go deep and understand how these large systems work will get a chance to excel in this position. The candidate will be expected to code in either Python Java Ruby or TypeScript.
A Code Services ADC System Development Engineer will develop and deploy operational tools to automate processes and reduce operational overhead. They will work with other engineers to build and manage massively scaled services as well as diagnose and resolve customer issues. This role involves tracking the health of services identifying and fixing problems on complex systems with massive scale. Additionally they will collaborate with some of the leading minds in distributed systems to deliver effective solutions.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

- 2 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3 years professional software development experience or one of the following related disciplines: Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Systems Engineering Systems Administration DevOps Security Administration or Network Administration
- 3 years programming or scripting language experience (Java Python Go Ruby) in Linux or similar UNIX distribution with a good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking architecture and core technologies such as Load Balancing DNS DHCP HTTP and Routing
- Current active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
- Experience with security best practices in tool development and access controls
- Experience managing servers in large-scale geographically diverse environments
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
