Core Responsibilities:
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) is looking for a Crisis Program Administrator Assistant. This is professional services work of a managerial nature in planning coordinating and directing various operational aspects of the Crisis Services program offered within the OADS Developmental Disability and Brain Injury program serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) or brain injuries. This position is supervised by the OADS Crisis Program Administrator. Essential duties include:
Determine the availability and the delivery of care to individuals with IDD and brain injury within the statewide Crisis Services program.
Decision-making on the day-to-day operation of four 2-bed crisis homes to temporarily house clients in crisis that need stabilization services.
Draft position statements and respond to crisis situations to assist in solving problems for public and private sector consumers
Collaborates with stakeholders colleagues and teams in collecting and discussing performance data and feedback; creates and facilitates new behavioral health and developmental disabilities and learning system teams to identify problems create and implement solutions and improve the quality of team services.
Ensure that all staff maintain appropriate certification to provide the level of care needed in the community and the state-run Crisis Homes for the individuals within the program.
This position provides ongoing training to internal and external parties and works with regional teams to ensure collaboration within the community is represented and supported.
Develop and recommend new and revised statutes rules policies and procedures to improve program effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in social service or mental health/developmental disabilities programs and a bachelors degree. At least three (3) years of the required experience must be in a supervisory and/or administrative capacity. Equivalent related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preference will be given to applicants with a working knowledge of OADS Crisis Prevention and Intervention Services.

1. Knowledge of crisis services operations and programs providing services to people with disabilities and ability to envision and lead an integrated-system to improve services for these populations.
2. A thorough knowledge of Crisis Prevention and Intervention strategies positive behavioral supports and behavioral intervention techniques serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities mental health issues and brain injury.
3. Knowledge of clinical assessment and monitoring methods and techniques.
