AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable flexible and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) works backwards from our customers most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi- billion-dollar businesses. As part of WWSO youll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy recruiting development and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Key job responsibilities
Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers largest and most critical business challenges.

Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs whitepapers reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit AWS re: Invent etc.

Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts solutions and initiatives.

Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.


A day in the life
- Specialist Solution Architects will engage as expert practitioners with a select set of customers to ensure first-hand knowledge of customer use cases and challenges.
- Demonstrates thought leadership and is able to credibly represent AWS at industry events conferences symposiums etc.
- Specialist Solution Architects serve as a focal point for representing voice and needs of the customer working with internal customer facing teams and product/service teams to influence the product roadmap.
- Responsibility for leading initiatives to scale innovation and modernization for SAP on AWS through expertise and guidance creating new technical and go to market content.
- Specialist Solution Architects have responsibility to maintain expertise across their entire domain and to consider/explore adjacent areas (e.g. other domains industry verticals) to anticipate future use cases and opportunities.

- 7 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5 years management of technical customer facing resources
- 5 years experience in SAP business processes (Order to Cash Procure to Pay) and integrations with related third party software (examples: order mgmt. warehouse mgmt. financial planning transportation and logistics carriers EDI etc.)

- Knowledge of SAP systems (SAP ECC S/4 HANA SAP Business Warehouse SAP HANA SAP Central Finance etc.) and their architecture and integration patterns
- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives IT Management and developers.
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
