Job Description

Were seeking a proactive and community-focused individual to join our Public Compliance team as Dog Registration Auditor. This is a unique opportunity to promote responsible dog ownership and help ensure compliance with the Dog Control Act 2000 across our community.

About the Role

As aDog Registration Auditor youll be out in the community visiting residential properties across Glenorchy to identify dogs that havent been registered or microchipped.

Working largely independently in the field youll be a friendly well received representative of Council - educating residents on their responsibilities and encouraging compliance with both state legislation and Councils Dog Management Policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct door-to-door audits to identify dogs kept at properties.
  • Promote dog registration and microchipping to residents.
  • Provide excellent customer service and manage occasional conflict with confidence and professionalism.
  • Accurately gather data and report findings.
  • Support broader objectives within the Public Compliance team.

    About You

    To succeed in this role youll be:

    • Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances outdoors.
    • A confident communicator able to engage respectfully and persuasively with a diverse range of people.
    • A self-starter who can work independently and meet set targets.
    • Calm under pressure and capable of resolving issues on the spot.

    Position Hours: Maximum term - 6 months. Full-Time.
