Job Description

The Opportunity

Our Construction and Infrastructure team works on exciting projects with government and private sector clients across the country and are on the lookout for a motivated Solicitor or Associate to join us.

Key Responsibilities

As a respected member of our growing team you will have the opportunity to work on some exciting matters alongside a team of passionate lawyers and support staff. Your key responsibilities in this role will include the following:

  • Advising clients on various construction and infrastructure projects including contracts disputes regulatory compliance and procurement.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients building strong relationships and providing strategic advice on various matters.
  • Drafting and negotiating various legal documents including construction supply and maintenance agreements.
  • Representing clients in negotiations mediations arbitrations and court proceedings.
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments in the construction and infrastructure industry.

Requirements

We understand that sometimes people bring skills or experience to the table that doesnt fit the square and we love people who think outside the box. As a guide we are seeking:

  • 1-3 years PAE with a focus and interest in construction and infrastructure.
  • A keen interest in construction and infrastructure and a willingness to work across sectors.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to giving high quality advice and work that is clear concise and well-considered.
  • An ability to proactively manage timeframes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction legislation and case law
  • Experience in arbitrations and dispute resolution
  • A commitment to drive continuous improvement for the team including through precedent development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with your work colleagues and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
