Job Description
The Virtual Economy Optimization team part of the Economy org owns the platform and infrastructure that supports developer monetization systems within Roblox. As a Senior Engineer on our team you will lead the work on building the next generation of In-Game Monetization to support millions of concurrent users within Roblox.
Beyond this scope you will be involved with several additional systems also owned by the team such as:
- Price experimentation platform.
- Regional Pricing.
- Personalized Offers.
The systems above enable developers to monetize their games on Roblox earning hundreds of millions of dollars per year while processing billions of transactions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building outstanding user experiences with a deep knowledge of C. Youll work with Roblox Game Engine (C) technologies driving optimal performance and user experience.
Experience with game development is especially translatable into this role but not a strict requirement.
You Will:
- Design sophisticated client-server architectures to support 100 million concurrent users.
- Develop in-game APIs and Interfaces used by millions of developers in a reliable secure manner.
- Optimize performance for developer and user-facing APIs.
- Work with product data science and design to help refine strategy and requirements.
- Be a tech lead for the team and mentor junior engineers
You Have:
- 6 years of professional experience working on consumer-facing applications.
- 2 years of experience with C.
- An interest in learning new technologies
- A collaborative mindset to partner with Product Managers and Designers.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a production environment.
