Position Summary

Youll collaborate with students teachers and families to foster a positive environment where academic success and strong character go hand in hand. Essential Responsibilities

Champion a Safe and Supportive School Culture

  • Lead in upholding our high behavioral expectations and cultivating a positive inclusive school culture where the Code of Conduct is clearly understood consistently promoted and equitably reinforced by both students and staff.
  • Be a visible presence during key times of the day: arrival dismissal transitions lunch and recessensuring structure safety and joy.
  • Maintain and analyze behavior data to guide proactive supports and targeted interventions.
  • Serve as a thought partner on the School Leadership Team and Culture Committee helping drive culture strategy for all students.
  • Collaborate with families to foster student growth celebrate milestones and reinforce our AMBER Way core values.

Support Teachers to Create Strong Engaging Classrooms

  • Spend time in classrooms dailyobserve coach and provide actionable feedback that supports strong behavior management and student engagement.
  • Guide teachers in differentiating instruction and extending learning for diverse student needs.
  • Co-lead professional development that builds skills in classroom culture restorative practices and positive behavior supports.
  • Provide timely in-the-moment support to classrooms; serve as the key point of contact for urgent behavior issues.
  • Oversee student accountability systems including out-of-class consequences and suspensions.
  • Develop and monitor individualized behavior plans in collaboration with students families and teachers.
  • Serve as the critical point person for acute or crisis student behavior concerns.
  • Assign and oversee out of classroom consequences including suspensions.
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of behavior intervention plans in partnership with teachers parents/guardians and students.

Contribute to the Day to Day Success and Ongoing Evolution of the School

  • Serve as a key member of the instructional leadership team.
  • Models the schools values and standards for professional conduct; consistently demonstrates best practices for communicating with students staff and families.
  • Support teachers in effective restorative practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers and use data to identify students with complex/high needs and develop strategies to support these students.
  • Execute special assignments and other duties as designated by the principal.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3 years experience as an effective impactful classroom teacher with a solid understanding of classroom management and its role in learning.
  • Strong command of all Microsoft Office and Google drive programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children staff and families.
  • Complete and pass pre-employment fingerprinting and reference check process.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Masters degree in the field of education.
  • 5 years experience as an effective impactful classroom teacher with a solid understanding of classroom management and its role in learning.
  • 3 years of Dean experience.
  • Experience planning developing facilitating and evaluating high-impact professional development.
  • Ability to read write and communicate in Spanish.

Work Schedule

  • 12 month work schedule

Work Environment/Physical Effort:

  • Regularly required to sit stand for long periods of time walk climb stairs speak loudly and clearly visually observe hear operate a computer and other classroom school and office equipment reach with hands and arms bend down and must occasionally lift move and/or support up to 20 pounds. Work is being performed in a traditional multi-floor school environment with limited to no elevator access.

Compensation:

Amber Charter Schools strictly follow a salary schedule for each role to ensure our continued commitment towards pay equity. The expected salary range for this role is $87000- $92298 depending on verified relevant work experience highest level of completed education and required certifications and/or licenses for the role. This is an exempt position.
