Carpenter

General Summary Of Duties:

The Carpenter is responsible for performing both rough and finish carpentry involving cutting shaping planning and fastening together pieces of wood and other materials. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

• Prepare the layout of the project.
• Estimate height width length and other proportions.
• Select materials.
• Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Work with materials such as wood plastic or drywall.
• Utilize chisels planes saws drills and sanders to repair and erect structures.
• Join materials with nails screws staples or adhesives.
• Work on top of scaffolding ladders
• Check work along the way to ensure its up to code and specifications.
• Build stairs mantles and furniture.
• Install cabinets and molding.
• Replace ceiling tiles and doors.
• Install partitions doors.

Additional Information :

Experience  Requirements

• 5 years of carpentry experience
• 2 years of head carpenter experience

Education Requirements

• High school diploma OR GED Equivalent.
