This is supervisory and technical work in planning organizing coordinating and supervising the work of staff engaged in parks maintenance grass cutting special events horticulture and playground operations cemetery turf management and minor construction projects. Reporting to the Parks Superintendent an employee of this class coordinates directs and inspects the work of contractors participates in assigned work conducts condition assessments safety inspections and problem investigation develops and implements new or improved project and work plans and schedules and coordinates work and procedures. Provides time equipment and cost estimates for maintenance repairs and new installations allocates resources monitors job costs to ensure working within budget and prepares and maintains records. Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised within established guidelines and defined limits while the more complex problems and policy matters are discussed with a superior who reviews performance in terms of efficient supervisory services rendered and the attainment of desired objectives.

The Class Specification requires a Class 5 Drivers License for the Province of British Columbia and is a job requirement.
