Job Description

Robotics Software Engineer (Multiple Positions) (Vecna Robotics LLC; Waltham MA) Vecna Robotics seeks a Robotics Software Engineer to develop robotic software and embedded systems that can reliably perform complex tasks in dynamic environments. You will help design integrate test deploy and maintain new machine intelligence functionality across the globe. You are a team player who is excited to solve challenging problems and the products you work on will incorporate the latest research-level algorithms from academia and Vecnas own internal research and development with a focus on robustness as well as performance. Hybrid telecommuting allowed within commuting distance of our Waltham MA office. Specific duties include the following: Implement and evaluate machine and system intelligence algorithms and modify them as needed for applications; Develop software to support: controls perception handling navigation obstacle avoidance and task handling of robots; Design and perform tests to verify software in simulation and on robots; Be proactive in suggesting improvements solving problems and escalating risks; and Work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Mechanical Engineering Robotics Engineering Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Must have: Proven ability of software development experience in at least one of the following areas: robotic controls planning navigation human-robot interaction manipulation machine learning. Proven ability with the ROS ecosystem. Proven ability with robotic middleware and operating environments. Proven ability with real time robotic systems. Proven ability with robotic kinematics and the application to controls and planning solutions. Proven ability with sensor fusion techniques. Proven ability with embedded software development including testing and troubleshooting. Proficiency in C Python or Java.
