Job Description

Position Summary

Hope House Colorado (HHC) is hiring a Senior Grant Development Officer (SDO) As the Senior Development Officer you will work with the director of development (DOD) on all aspects of donor relations event sponsorships annual giving campaigns and individual gifts special projects including mid and major donor relationship building. This position is responsible for identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding current and prospective donors. The SDO is assigned certain aspects of event fundraising (5K Gala Silent Auction) as well as other income streams for the organization. The SDO represents Hope House publicly at speaking opportunities and has the opportunity to share with champions the grace of God shown through His work at Hope House Colorado and to give champions an opportunity to experience relationship with God through their giving.


What youll be doing


Champion Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for 175 mid-level and major donors and increasing their engagement with Hope House.
  • Build relationships with donors through individual meetings coffee dates lunches and events.
  • Support DOD with recruiting and oversight of development committee of the board.
  • Represent Hope House publicly through speaking engagements and attending community events and facilitating donor engagement events.
  • Manage and appreciate event volunteers associated with development events.
  • Promoting Hope House Colorados Core Values throughout the organization and external relationships

Income Stream & Event Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Hope House 5K (500 runners/walkers) including sponsorships marketing racing company city officials F & B vendors swag bag vendors security and medical. Responsible for use of POE (Program of Events) and budget.
  • Responsible for Gala Silent Auction solicitation pre-bidding stewardship and working with auction company to ensure auction goals are met. Oversees auction volunteers in procurement marketing night of sales appreciation and stewardship of donors.
  • Responsible for Small Event Income Stream connecting with existing and new champions on events netting over $220000 in income for the organization.
  • Help coordinate church relations including supply drives gift card trees and speaking engagements.
  • Responsible for growing income from mid and major donor pool to meet key donor income streams.

Database & Admin Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adding new contacts recording meetings actions appreciation calls and making new actions in Raisers Edge.
  • Update proposals for gifts and sponsorships.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote the values of HHC throughout the organization and external relationships
  • Attend team and organizational meetings activities and events
  • Input relevant data into development and program databases
  • Collaborate with HHC staff and perform job duties to advance the organizations mission and vision
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and within a team seeking guidance as appropriate

  • You have a valid drivers license and current automobile insurance. (Required)
  • You are committed to Hope House Colorados Core Values and continually working towards the HHC mission. (Required)
  • You are willing to complete training for ServSafe Certification to supervise volunteers and champions in the commercial kitchen as needed. (Required)
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others. (Required)
  • Excellent written verbal and in-person communication skills. (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications Raisers Edge database experience a plus. (Preferred)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning. (Preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in nonprofit Development work with donors. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills with donors. (Preferred)
  • Confident public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing. (Preferred)
  • You are available to work onsite at our Arvada location Monday-Friday with occasional weekend or evening shifts concurrent with special events. (Required)

Salary Range

$59000 - $74000 per year


Benefits

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work 24 hours per week or more are eligible for the below benefits

  • Health Benefits: Employees may elect medical dental vision & life insurance plans.
  • Simple IRA: Employees may choose to make salary reduction contributions through HHCs Simple IRA plan and HHC will match the employees contribution up to a maximum of 3% of the employees annual salary.
  • Vacation: Upon hire employees earn 6 hours of vacation per paycheck up to 120 hours (3 weeks) in a year. Accruals are adjusted to increase vacation earned per hours worked based on length of employment with HHC.
  • Holidays: HHC observes eleven (11) holidays throughout the year. Salaried employees are paid for these holidays according to the nationally recognized observation day for each holiday. In addition salaried employees are currently gifted either the week of Christmas or the week of New Years off to be scheduled at the discretion of their supervisor.
  • Sick Leave: HHC provides eligible employees with Paid Sick and Safe Leave (PSSL) and Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) in accordance with the requirements of Colorados Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA).
  • Employer Based Childcare: Employer Based Childcare: Employees receive a discount for their child(ren)s child care tuition if they are enrolled in the Hope House Colorado Early Learning Center.
  • Hope House Colorado is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program! HHC provides employees with free assistance navigating the PSLF program to submit their federal student loans for forgiveness
