Job Description
The Data Processing Agents science team is looking for a passionate inventive Applied Scientist with a strong background in programming languages combined with experience in Generative AI to help create industry-leading agentic experiences for big data processing powered by generative AI machine learning and program analysis.

Key job responsibilities
As part of the Data Processing Agents science team you will have the opportunity to apply your Generative AI and program analysis skills to impact some of the largest analytics services in the industry and their customers. You will innovate by designing and building agentic solutions orchestrating program analyses foundation models and machine learning models and instantiating them to simplify optimize and operationalize the big data processing workflows of AWS customers through automation. You will collaborate with a talented team of applied science peers to drive scientific impact and with engineering product and business leaders to launch your work in production at Amazon scale.

* PhD in engineering technology computer science machine learning robotics operations research statistics mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
* Experience programming in Python Java C or related language
* Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
* Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures parsing numerical optimization data mining parallel and distributed computing high-performance computing
* Background or expertise in programming languages or software engineering
* Experience in machine learning generative AI or natural language processing
* Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Spark Hadoop etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
