Program Overview

An internship at Ridgecrest Conference Center offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally spiritually and personally. Interns receive on-the-job training and develop skills needed to thrive in a fast-paced Christian hospitality environment. The program includes weekly Bible study and fellowship with other team members providing enrichment and service opportunities for growth and development. Team managers and supervisors will coordinate your work schedule daily responsibilities and special project assignments.

Program Highlights

  • Duration: End of August through the beginning of May.
  • Hours: Vary based on business conditions; availability for day or evening shifts weekends and holidays is required.
  • Compensation: $10 per hour stipend.
  • Housing: Provided for the duration of the internship.
  • Meals: Lunch provided daily in the Dining Hall (except Sundays); breakfast and lunch provided when serving meals to guests on campus.

Essential Job Duties

Join our team and take on an exciting role where youll operate state-of-the-art equipment and assist with setup for events across our seven auditoriums on campus. Heres what youll be doing:

  • Operate Advanced Equipment: Use cutting-edge audio and lighting systems to enhance events and presentations.
  • Set Up Spaces: Prepare and maintain classroom spaces for guests ensuring everything is ready for their needs such as setting up large numbers of tables and chairs vacuuming and taking out trash.
  • Problem-Solve: Tackle challenges and handle high-pressure situations with confidence.
  • Team Spirit: Maintain a positive attitude and enjoy a fulfilling nine-month experience with a supportive team.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to work from August to May (40 hours/week).
  • Commitment to the overall program including Bible study service projects and events.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform physical work.
  • Possess a sincere desire to serve others with excellence and grace.
  • Be flexible teachable and hard-working.
  • Willingness to serve guests with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrate maturity.
  • Ability to work long days busy weekends and be prepared to work hard both mentally and physically.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with audio/visual equipment and event production
  • Familiarity with sound and lighting cues.
  • Basic knowledge of computer graphics and theatre-style lighting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues under pressure
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and up to 100 pounds at times
  • Work at heights up to 100 feet on catwalk platforms and in lighting coves
  • Good body mobility with good range of motion from floor level to overhead
  • Work will include significant amounts of bending stretching kneeling twisting climbing and lifting on a daily basis
  • Frequent weekend and evening work
  • Able to work in a variety of work areas
