    District Head Custodian

    Supervisor:Director of Operations

    Primary Responsibilities: The District Head Custodian oversees all custodial operations ensuring clean safe and efficient facilities. This role supervises and evaluates Head Custodians coordinates with the Director of Operations and manages summer custodial staff and scheduling to support district activities

    Qualifications/Experience:
    • High School diploma or G.E.D. and related job experience
    • Knowledge of custodial procedures equipment operation and basic equipment maintenance
    • Strong communication skills for working with staff co-workers and the public
    • Supervisory experience in building custodial work; district-level supervision preferred
    • Physically able to perform strenuous tasks including lifting 50100 lbs. walking climbing and standing
    • Ability to work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions with exposure to dust chemicals and extreme temperatures
    • Skilled in managing custodial supply orders and vendor relationships
    • Experience planning and executing summer custodial projects
    • Capable of leading district and building-wide custodial trainings
    • Valid Missouri drivers license
    • Commitment to working effectively in a diverse multicultural environment

    Essential Functions:
    Leadership & Supervision
    • Supervise support and evaluate Head Custodians across all buildings.
    • Oversee custodial operations district-wide including summer schedules substitute coverage and special events.
    • Assign work orders manage custodial schedules and monitor staff performance to ensure timely and effective service.
    Facilities Maintenance & Safety
    • Assist in daily cleaning responsibilities across the district supporting building-level custodial teams as needed.
    • Provide coverage for absent custodial staff ensuring continuity of cleaning and maintenance operations.
    • Ensure all facilities meet district standards for cleanliness safety and maintenance.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve maintenance or safety issues.
    • Respond to emergency cleaning needs and special requests as needed.
    • Maintain a clean safe and orderly environment following all district safety protocols.
    • Secure buildings after use and complete safety evaluations as required.
    Training & Compliance
    • Train custodial staff on cleaning procedures equipment operation and safety practices.
    • Ensure compliance with district policies and proper use of tools chemicals and equipment.
    • Maintain certifications and participate in ongoing professional development.
    Operations & Inventory Management
    • Operate maintain and ensure proper care of custodial equipment and district facilities.
    • Manage inventory and oversee the purchasing and distribution of custodial supplies.
    • Coordinate transportation of equipment and materials between district locations.
    Communication & Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with custodial staff administration and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to support school functions and facility needs.
    • Keep stakeholders informed about ongoing repairs maintenance and safety concerns.
    Additional Duties
    • Maintain a flexible work schedule including early mornings evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or district administration.
