Position Summary
The General Manager / Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the companys overall operations financial planning and strategic execution. This hybrid role combines leadership in plant and business operations with a strong command of budgeting cash flow management financial analysis and strategic decision-making to support profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
General Management
- Lead and coordinate daily business operations including finance marketing/sales and HR.
- Recruit mentor and manage team leads and department heads.
- Drive operational efficiency across departments and implement systems to support scalability.
- Work closely with the Founder on strategic planning KPI development and business growth initiatives.
- Develop and maintain vendor distributor and key customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with food safety quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. USDA FDA SQF HACCP).
Financial Management
- Own the companys financial model including P&L management forecasting budgeting and cash flow analysis.
- Create and present monthly quarterly and annual financial reports to ownership and investors.
- Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) margins and pricing strategy to optimize profitability.
- Oversee accounts receivable/payable inventory financing and vendor payment terms.
- Manage relationships with banks lenders and investors including due diligence and funding rounds.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and coordinate with external CPAs and auditors.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 7 years of leadership experience in a food or CPG company with at least 3 years in financial management.
- Past P&L responsibility of $20M or more with a food company
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting cash flow management and manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to scale operations and improve profitability in a growth-stage company.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Exceptional leadership communication and strategic thinking skills.
