Our flagship campus is in Sydney Australia but we engage our Contractors and Freelancers all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor or Freelancer at Canva you can work remotely in the country listed on this job ad meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you works for us. Please note this is a 6-month contract with full time hours per week.
What youd be doing in this role
As our Senior Designer youll collaborate closely with the Creative Director to elevate Canvas visual presence in Mxico. Partnering with a talented team including copywriters and freelancers youll ideate design and execute for projects that elevate our brand. From scroll-stopping performance ads to campaigns that shape Canvas perception in Latin America.
Youre an experienced designer who can bring concepts to life with creativity attention to detail and personality. This role is perfect for a versatile individual with the ability to tell powerful stories through their work.

At the moment this role is focused on:
Lead the visual direction for brand product and performance campaigns keeping every project fresh consistent and innovative.
Design simple powerful storyboards for ads and hype reels that bring Canva to life.
Confidently pitch concepts and present work to senior creative leaders product marketing managers and stakeholders clearly articulating the creative vision and strategic approach.
Write with the same creativity and clarity you bring to your designs.
Passionate about exceptional art direction and design thats not just beautiful but also thoughtful meaningful and when it needs to be provocative.
Collaborate with external vendors providing clear art direction guidance and feedback to help elevate their work.
Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met.
Youre probably a match if
7 years of experience in branding and advertising.
Were looking for someone with strong design skills and a solid understanding of motion design with experience leading projects from start to finish.
An understanding that spans digital design product design and Figma is key to ensuring that your vision is fully realised.
Bonus points if youve art-directed films or photoshoots before.
Excited to jump on Canva to design.
Native-level Spanish and strong English skills (were a global team so English is part of our day-to-day).
This is a remote role with flexible working hours but youll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening (6-9 PM)
