Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Vision
    • Define and own the product roadmap for real-time payments including NPP enhancements overlays and integrations.
    • Align product direction with business goals compliance obligations and customer expectations.
  • Agile Delivery & Backlog Ownership
    • Own and prioritize the product backlog to ensure timely delivery of high-value features.
    • Write detailed user stories define acceptance criteria and support the squad through refinement and sprint planning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Liaise with internal teams including Technology Risk Legal Compliance and Operations.
    • Collaborate with external parties such as the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) AusPayNet and NPP Australia to align on standards and initiatives.
  • Payments Expertise
    • Provide subject matter expertise in payment flows including Direct Entry BPAY RTGS NPP and future overlay services like PayTo.
    • Understand the end-to-end architecture of payments infrastructure and drive continuous improvement.
  • Risk & Compliance
    • Ensure all products are designed and delivered in compliance with regulatory requirements including PCI-DSS AML/CTF and industry-specific standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Product Ownership or Product Management in financial services or fintech.
  • Strong working knowledge of real-time payments including NPP PayID PayTo and ISO 20022 messaging.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in system integration APIs and digital banking platforms is highly desirable.
