Hawthorne Quality Pet Care is a dedicated small animal veterinary practice located in Lawndale CA. We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a motivated and dependable professional who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced environment and demonstrates initiative when working independently. Strong communication skills written and verbal along with excellent time management and a positive team-oriented attitude are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare animals and surgical instruments for procedures
- Perform dental cleanings including extractions when needed
- Administer medications vaccines and prescribed treatments
- Provide emergency first aid and general nursing care
- Collect and accurately record patient histories and clinical information
- Educate clients on post-treatment care and at-home protocols
- Safely restrain animals for exams and procedures
- Conduct in-house diagnostics including radiographs
- Dispense medications and clearly explain usage to clients
- Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters
- Induce intubate and monitor patients under anesthesia
- Administer oral IV IM and subcutaneous therapies
- Triage urgent and critical care cases
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 years of veterinary technician experience (licensed or unlicensed)
- Strong multitasking abilities and calm under pressure
- Experience with anesthesia dental procedures and emergency care
- Familiarity with veterinary software and medical documentation
