Position Summary
While working independently under the general direction of the Director of Campus Recreation and Student Recreation Center( SRC ) the Assistant Director of Operations and Fitness is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Student Recreation Center at Southern Oregon University ( SOU ). This position oversees the operations of the recreation facilities membership management at the SRC Information Desk reservations and events at the SRC the fitness personal training and recreation programming as well as professional contributions to the overall operations of the SRC . Duties
Wellness Fitness and Personal Training Programming: Coordinates the operations of fitness-related facilities and services such as cardio weight and group exercise spaces and equipment. Oversees the Fitness and Personal Training programming which includes hiring training scheduling and evaluating ten fitness instructors and 10 personal trainers. Ensures all instructors are properly qualified trained monitored and evaluated for service quality and inclusive experience. Ensure the enforcement of all Center policies and procedures. Monitor and evaluate the participation and effectiveness of the programs including success and retention and resiliency. Coordinates safe use of fitness equipment and makes recommendations for purchase use placement and replacement of equipment. Develops and implements virtual and in-person wellness programs for the SOU community and for the esports team.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Physical Education Recreation Sports Administration Student Personnel or related field Two years experience of building operation responsibilities in a university recreation setting Fiscal planning and budget management experience while balancing revenue generating initiatives. Participation in position-related professional organizations (such as NIRSA NASPA ACUI etc.). Demonstrated experience with facility management including upgrades and expansion maintenance and scheduling. Experience working and/or managing a student or community recreation center. Preferred experience with Fusion Innosoft (Access Control/Member Management software) Connect 2 and EMS (reservation system).
