The individual in this critical position will serve as a key resource for the College of Engineering and its stakeholders by providing comprehensive support for the colleges technology infrastructure. This includes administering and supporting network desktop mobile and remote systems as well as servers and user resources. The incumbent will contribute to the strategic planning and ongoing development of information systems used by a broad audience including engineering students staff faculty and administrators. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues coordinating and supporting internal application systems used within the college and by other campus units testing and deploying new software and computing environments and researching planning and implementing emerging technologies.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related information technology field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Computer Science Information Systems Business or related information technology field; experience in the development and deployment of multiple learning environments such as RDS and VDI; experience supporting large compute clusters running Linux as well as Linus clusters supporting JupyterHub clusters for supporting RDS and implementation of VDI in test labs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
