Western National is seeking a Property Claims Representative to join our team!


The individual in this role will investigate evaluate negotiate and resolve multi-line insurance claims. This individual will interact with policyholders claimants and agents and will maintain regular contact with employees across the organization to handle various claims working to ensure a positive customer experience.


What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role

  • Supports the ongoing implementation of the core business attributes of empowerment accountability and connectiveness.
  • Handles moderate-to-high complexity claims within settlement authority.
  • Ensures customer service excellence.
  • Investigates and reviews policy forms facts and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claims resolution.
  • Recognizes claim files exposures and escalates appropriately.
  • Establishes and reviews proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation evaluation and experience maintaining appropriate reports to ensure current status of claims are clearly documented at all times.
  • Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards by responding quickly maintaining a positive attitude building rapport demonstrating empathy managing the customers expectations using the proper communication channel for the situation and taking ownership to ensure the customers issue is resolved.
  • Provides direction to outside resources.

What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate

  • Strong claims processing and case management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices standards and claims concepts.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Proficient use of various core systems office and computer equipment and software packages.
  • Ability to travel to home office when appropriate.
Requirements

What will our ideal candidate have

  • Prior claims processing experience.
  • Bachelors degree in business or related field; experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
  • Related certification is strongly preferred (AIC or AINS).

Compensation overview

The targeted hiring range for this role is $58000 - $79750 annually. However the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge skills credentials and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
