Job Description

Would You Like to Make a Difference

Do you have experience working with vulnerable children youth and families disability allied health or mental health

Amicus is a not-for-profit organisation making a big difference in our community. We have been part of Bendigo for over 30 years. We are continually growing and currently have an exciting opportunity to join our passionate team.

You will work as part of our caring and committed team to provide holistic support to participants to get the best from their plan their community and their lives.

Role Requirements:

  • Active engagement of vulnerable children youth and families. Delivering a range of interventions to improve their outcomes using culturally safe and therapeutic approaches.
  • Ability to undertake complex casework with families and children who have experienced trauma and may present with challenging behaviours.
  • A good understanding of the impact of trauma child safe standards and experience in applying relevant theoretical approaches to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Skills in case management including developing community connections as well as maintain and manage up to date and accurate client records case files and documentation.
  • Provide direct support supervision management and rostering to a team of Community Support Workers.
  • A genuine passion for working with vulnerable children youth and families.
  • Ability to work flexibly in line with participant needs for afterhours support including a rotating on-call phone roster.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate a team provide guidance supervision and direction to staff.
  • Experience in case management counselling or coordinating supports for individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Capacity to identify and resolve issues effectively making sound judgments and decisions in challenging situations.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks manage time effectively and maintain a high level of organisation.
  • Understanding of the TCP programs goals and the specific needs of children and families involved in the program.
  • Awareness of relevant legislation therapeutical frameworks policies and procedures related to child protection and the placement of children in out-of-home care.
  • Dedication to providing high-quality care and support to clients and their families.
  • ICT literacy in using a range of relevant computer programs and systems including Salesforce MS Office Outlook and CRISSP (Client Relationship Information System for Service Providers).

You Will Need:

Qualification in relevant Community Services business disciplines Social Work Psychology or relevant field.

Minimum 1 year experience in child protection family services social work or similar (desired).

Current Victorian drivers licence.

Vehicle registration and car insurance.

NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Working with Children Check.

Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

NDIS Workers Orientation Module Quality Safety and You.

Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (National Police Check).

International Criminal History Check (If relevant).

This position is paid under the SCHADS Award starting at Level 4.1 and paid at a level in line with experience. Salary Packaging of up to $15900 available including meals and entertainment benefits.
