JOB TITLE: Assistant Coordinator of Custodial Training & Supervision (Dayshift)REPORTS TO: Facilities CoordinatorLOCATION: Worcester Public Schools Worcester Massachusetts POSITION TYPE: Full Time/Non-ExemptPOSITION PURPOSE: The Custodial Training Coordinator in collaboration with Facilities leadership is accountable for designing implementing and managing training systems that promote consistent high-quality custodial practices across the district. This role focuses on continuous improvement by evaluating and refining training protocols identifying systemic gaps in custodial knowledge or performance and aligning training efforts with operational goals. Responsibilities include conducting on-site evaluations to ensure adherence to standards providing technical guidance and maintaining accurate training records. The Coordinator also fosters positive relationships with school staff and custodial teams and partners closely with the Coordinator of Buildings & Grounds and the Coordinator of Environmental Health & Safety to develop data-informed strategies that enhance custodial effectiveness and organizational QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework (equivalent to one year of college) in supervision management or effective communication degree in Facilities Administration Business Administration or a related field of three years of experience in custodial maintenance and supervision including scheduling and workforce deployment; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be experience supervising custodial employees in a school or similar institutional drivers license and a clean driving record of applicable health and safety regulations including Hazard Communication Standards Asbestos Awareness Bloodborne Pathogens and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse staff and school ability to deliver training and presentations to adult developing positive working relationships with building administrators and frontline of custodial work standards and productivity benchmarks; familiarity with modern cleaning techniques and practices with computer software including the ability to operate or support inventory and work order management systems at both central and building organizational skills to manage multiple training schedules materials and compliance with training tools and software as well as custodial equipment and cleaning problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate training needs and improve program to maintaining a safe clean and inclusive school environment through effective custodial training REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks commonly associated with custodial walking stair climbing standing stooping and the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct initial and ongoing building inspections to establish and raise cleanliness baselines using industry-accepted standards in coordination with the Coordinator of Buildings & Grounds and the Director of monthly site inspections to evaluate cleanliness levels verify adherence to routine cleaning protocols and assess procedural the professional development of custodial staff ensuring comprehensive training in cleaning procedures personal conduct job safety and compliance with OSHA ADA and other legal and document annual training on mandated topics including Hazard Communication Bloodborne Pathogens Asbestos Awareness and ADA with Area Custodial Supervisors to monitor and address issues related to the implementation of standardized cleaning plans across all and implement routine daily cleaning tasks and frequency schedules tailored to each school regular communication with building administrators to gather feedback on custodial services and address performance deliver and continuously improve training programs covering orientation safety cleaning methods and equipment operation for both new hires and existing staff performance during and after training sessions providing feedback coaching and follow-up support as detailed and up-to-date training records including attendance certifications and performance all training programs align with applicable laws regulations and district training program effectiveness regularly and adjust content or delivery methods to improve with the Coordinator of Buildings & Grounds the Coordinator of Environmental Health & Safety and other departments to identify training gaps and implement targeted training materials supplies and equipment to ensure readiness and availability for and present training reports and staff performance summaries to Facilities in the recruitment screening and onboarding of new custodial other related duties as YEAR: 52 WeeksWORK DAY: 8 Hours dayshiftCOMPENSATION: $51.13 hourly
