Job Description

Position Description:

The Support Performance Coordinator is responsible for responding to employee conduct matters conducting investigations and serving as the Human Resources due process hearing officer.

Reports To: Director of Support Performance and Professional Accountability

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Works with the Director of Support Performance and Professional Accountability to implement and improve evaluation systems for non-instructional employees.
  • Ensures that all non-instructional staff set performance goals and are engaged in an ongoing performance evaluation with their supervisors annually.
  • Ensures that all supervisors of non-instructional staff submit formal annual performance evaluations of their employees.
  • Provides guidance and support to principals and hiring managers in matters related to employee conduct in the school and central office.
  • Conducts investigations gathers data and documentation in matters related to employee conduct.
  • Travels to various JPPSS facilities across the district to support principals and hiring managers in matters related to employee conduct.
  • Serves as a hearing officer in employee discipline and evaluation grievance hearings analyze outcomes and compile findings for submission to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Works collaboratively with the Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office and other law enforcement agencies in matters related to employee conduct when appropriate. Must have reliable transportation.
  • Remains abreast of changes in district policy and state law.
  • Maintains and preserves confidentiality of correspondence reports and records on individual employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Support Performance and Professional Accountability.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and travel within the school district
  • Excellent customer service skills when dealing with the public

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years working in a school setting desirable but not required
  • Experience with mediations desirable but not required
  • Interpersonal relationship skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills

Physical Involvement:

Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing walking reaching bending and lifting up to 10 pounds is required. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations including locations not on the ground be able to drive to schools before during and after school hours using own transportation.
