The Extra Help Development Coordinator plays an integral role in growing audiences and building engagement with WGLT/WCBU in the community. That is achieved through executing special projects aligning with the NPR Network growth goals. This position is also charged with building relationships with community leaders and organizations in Central IL with the goal of bringing them closer to the public service mission.

$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
1. Bachelors or equivalent degree in communications journalism public relations public service business marketing or related discipline.
2. One year of professional or volunteer experience in development/fundraising.
3. Valid drivers license.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently with initiative and creativity.
5. Excellent communication and writing skills
6. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and in a positive manner to further the mission and goals of organization.
7. Knowledge using basic computer software.
9. Demonstrated ability to plan projects and meet deadlines including attention to detail.
10. Demonstrated ability to succeed in meeting project goals.
11. Demonstrated ability to successfully network and connect with important community constituencies.
Monday through Friday 8am - noon or as scheduled. 20 hours per week.
Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodations:
1. Remain at workstation for extended periods.
2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
