Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Cardiopulmonary Science or a related field.
  • Current unrestricted Florida RN license or appropriate credential if applicable
  • Clinical background with a minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing or a related clinical field.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to students faculty and staff.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in nursing Healthcare Administration or a related field.
  • Experience in coordinating clinical experiences and preceptorships is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Dean of Nursing to prepare a master clinical schedule.
  • Serves as the main point of contact and liaison between the Allen School of Nursing and the clinical partners.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinical affiliates.
  • Serves as a member of the clinical consortium to secure and maintain clinical site placement for the nursing program.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to clinical placements and preceptorships.
  • Maintains policies and procedures specific to each clinical site.
  • Maintains information regarding changes in requirements for clinical placements and facilitates compliance through communication.
  • Coordinates clinical orientation for faculty and students according to clinical partner requirements.
  • Monitors student and faculty compliance with credentials background drug screen and required health screenings and immunizations.
  • Serves as a member of the Allen School of Nursing Admissions Committee.
  • Conducts clinical site visits as needed.
  • Attends and participates in all new nursing student orientations.
  • Collaborates with clinical affiliate staff to ensure student clearance for student placement.
  • Collaborates with the Academic Advisor for the School of Health and Public Services to review clinical affiliation agreements/contracts for accuracy and currency and reports to the Dean of Nursing for recommended changes.
  • Attends Nursing Advisory Board meetings.
  • Coordinates adjunct orientations and ensures the completed checklists are in the employees files.
  • Manage student clinical assignments and preceptorships in Trajecys and My Clinical Exchange.
  • Trends clinical placement data and makes recommendations for systematic program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Dean to interview and hire adjunct faculty.
  • Confirm all placements with adjuncts prior to the start of the semester.
  • Provides the Dean of Nursing with the number of adjunct faculty needed for labs/clinical coverage each semester.
  • Assists the Dean of Nursing Student Success Lab Coordinator and Simulation Specialist in identifying equipment and technology needs that are currently used in local agencies.
  • Develop and maintain the student skills lists to ensure consistency with lab procedures appropriate to students scope of practice and in alignment with clinical agency protocols.
  • Collaborates with faculty and the Simulation Specialist to coordinate simulation schedule and experiences in the event of changes to clinical site availability.
  • Seeks out potential new clinical and community agency sites that would align with program needs and goals.
  • Plans and attends college open houses career fairs student forums and conferences as appropriate to prepare and assess clinical program effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for scheduling and documentation.
  • Knowledge of clinical education standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to students faculty and staff.
