The Associate Attorney is responsible for handling bankruptcy matters for the firm. They will utilize legal knowledge and experience to facilitate the bankruptcy process on behalf of our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation review and approval of bankruptcy related pleadings.
- Handle all aspects of bankruptcy matters including Proof of Claims Motions for Relief Objections Responses to Objections Payment Change Notices Settlements and Adversary Proceedings.
- Participation in mediations depositions telephonic hearings in-person hearings.
- Regular client meetings/updates.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Maryland and Virginia State Bars.
- Ability to manage and prioritize large caseload.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicates with all clients (via client systems e-mail and phone).
- Provides exceptional client service.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Conscientious with respect to work completion deadlines time management and attendance.
- Analytical and detail oriented while working at a fast pace and capable of multi-tasking.
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position
- Active licensure and good standing with the Maryland and Virginia State Bars.
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills especially in legal documentation and client interaction.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately.
- What are the nice-to-have skills
- Prior experience handling adversary proceedings payment change notices or mediation in bankruptcy cases.
- Familiarity with client systems or legal case management tools.
- Ability to attend in-person hearings or depositions as needed.
- Demonstrated success working within a structured deadline-driven environment.
