Our vision is a community where all individuals especially people of color have attained financial independence through employment success.


Our 8-week career training programs provide participants with the skills needed to be successful on any job. Our training focuses on individual development Personal Empowerment Career Training and the 21st Century Skills that todays employers are looking for. Graduates of this program typically double or triple their annual income. Our career coaches help participants develop a career plan while providing them with the resources and placement connections needed to achieve their goals.


Employers hire TCR graduates because they value that TCR graduates apply their Personal Empowerment skills leading to accountability responsibility conflict resolution positive interaction attendance and long-term change. They also know TCR graduates receive continued coaching services through the end of the first year of employment and that over 70% of TCR graduates stay at their job 1 years well above the general average.


Our Personal Empowerment Training curriculum that provides transformative Emotional Intelligence Training has been designed by The Empowerment Institute at Twin Cities R!SE. Not only do our TCR program participants benefit from this training The Empowerment Institute partners with businesses schools universities and nonprofits to help them create their own empowered cultures within these organizations.


JOB PURPOSE:

The Evening Workforce Education Facilitator is responsible for classroom facilitation (teaching). This position is responsible for delivering virtual sessions for evening cohorts and integrating best-practice learning methodologies to ensuring participants can complete the program successfully.


This position works closely with TCRs Education Services Team to work cross-functionally with other TCR operating areas to coordinate effective communication strategies establish and maintain educational process and policy and coordinate strategies to maximize outcomes of the educational benchmark targets established for the organization.

JOB DETAILS:

Department: Education

Reports To: Workforce Education and Training Manager

Location: Minneapolis

In-office or Hybrid: Hybrid

Full-time or Part-time: Part-time (10-20 hours per week)

FLSA Status (exempt or nonexempt): Nonexempt


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Administration

  • Teach evening sessions following the priorities and protocols of TCR training.
  • Use TCR E-Learning to facilitate virtual learning strategies for the participants and host in person segments as needed.
  • Implement new program initiatives consistent with the educational strategy and organizational needs of TCR (NorthStar Computer Certification Expanded Technology Applications Workshop Development Mini-Session Development Math/Literacy Assessment etc.)
  • Work closely with the TCRs Education Services Team and operating areas to maintain enhance and communicate the overall educational strategies and results of TCR to internal audiences.

Classroom Facilitation

  • Classroom facilitation for various programs; program sessions career pathway training support workshops mini-sessions facilitator training or other venues.

SUPERVISION: N/A - This position does not supervise any staff.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $24.40 to $30.00 per hour depending on qualifications. 10-20 hours per week.

Requirements

Desired Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Human Services Education Business or other related areas.
  • Practical classroom experience in training education or consulting settings with experience in developing or implementing best practices concepts in workforce development particularly for adult learners.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching facilitation and educational administration.
  • Experience in an educational or consulting capacity with project management concepts and past project execution accomplishments.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Technological proficiency with various software applications to support relevant data tracking educational delivery report management and analysis.
  • Exceptional classroom training experience with familiarity in program design and structure for adult learners.
  • Ability to manage priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner and to achieve strategic goals.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong skills in education teaching workforce education and other relevant topics to support subject-matter content best-practice methodologies and strategic initiatives related to TCRs educational strategy.
  • Knowledge of approaches to direct services programming for adults.
  • Understanding of barriers issues processes and procedures related to direct services for adults with systemic and generational poverty histories.
  • Knowledge of skills needed by job seeking adults.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication on an interpersonal or group level including effective listening and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to build long-term sustainable relationships.
  • Ability to work with a positive outlook in a changing environment quickly adjusting key priorities in response to the ever-changing dynamics of the organization.
  • High degree of confidentiality diplomacy discretion tact and appropriate interpersonal relationship boundaries with participants.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to achieve results both individually and working with others within the scope of the organizations policies practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer including use of organizations database Microsoft Office (Word Outlook) and other technical resources to effectively accomplish work.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to perform the primary duties and responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use a PC/laptop requiring repetitive motion of fingers hands and wrists.
  • Required to occasionally move about in an office or remote environment to access file cabinets printers etc. and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Required to move about in a classroom during training facilitation.
  • Ability to lift light materials and equipment in the typical office environment (up to 15 pounds).
  • Ability to be on video calls with camera on for all meetings.
  • Willingness to work evening hours.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office/remote environment.
  • Work schedule: Evenings will be required.
  • Travel requirements: Position will be expected to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area to attend advancement ceremonies and other meetings as necessary.
  • Location/structure of work: Majority of worktime will be remote using a laptop.
