Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Support Engineer

Work Location: Pune

  • Relevant experience required (in years): Minimum 05 years of experience in a metal manufacturing assembly or equivalent related work experience with Experience utilizing 3d modelling software (SolidWorks) and 2d CAD.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • At least a bachelors degree in engineering (e.g. Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering).
  • Excellent English Writing and Speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Knowledge of MS Office package (Especially Outlook and Excel) - Preferred
  • Knowledge of blueprints welding symbols material properties and equipment for metal manufacturing (laser cutting bending welding powder coating etc.)
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science/technology including applying principles techniques procedures and equipment to the design and production of manufactured parts
  • Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques tools and standards involved in production of precision technical plans blueprints drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic algebra geometry calculus statistics and their applications
  • Knowledge of raw materials production processes quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Being professional and courteous in all verbal and written communications with co-workers vendors superiors and customers
  • Understand privacy rules and follows protocol.

Role & Responsibilities:

Your Role

The Manufacturing Engineer will estimate manufacturing time and ensure that databases are promptly and accurately maintained. You will be responsible for ensuring that new orders are entered into the system and that the information correctly reflects our factories capabilities. You will need knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing and assembly processes. This role will be supporting a factory located in Georgia United States

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Promptly process all new orders within our JD Edwards ERP system
  • Update the Bill of Materials (BOM) to reflect the materials used in the United States
  • Determine the manufacturing routings and machine burdens
  • Create work instructions and quality control sheets for products to be manufactured.
  • Analyse drawing tolerances and ensure that the item can be fabricated.
  • Establish customer and internal engineering change orders and ensure changes become effective.
  • Perform time studies using videos of the operation to improve our estimates
  • Preform customer service duties and maintain a positive relationship with our internal buyers
  • Provide prompt feedback on order problems and ensure that issues are quickly resolved.
  • Assist in creating implementing and monitoring key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Assist Production to develop jig/fixtures to increase and improve production times accuracy and quality repeatability.
  • Perform other assignments as directed by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • Design of appropriate weld and assembly fixtures necessary for efficient and cost effective manufacturing
