Job Description

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

We are currently looking to fill casual positions in the Blue Mountains Emu Plains and Penrith areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients with mental health challenges complex needs and high behaviours
  • Provide safe manual handling support
  • Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing dressing) and manual handling
  • Availability for short-notice shifts and active overnights is essential
  • Implement person-centred active support and follow behaviour support plans
  • Log daily care and changes in needs to ensure informed coordinated support

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
