Job Description
Medical Assistant Contract Role
Job Details:
- Location: Cambridge MA 02138
- Duration: 13-weeks Contract
- Weekly Pay Rate: $920- $1040
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: Day Shift (8)-8:00 start
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment including taking vital signs medical histories and performing preliminary patient interviews
- Assist providers with examinations procedures and treatments
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens as directed
- Administer injections immunizations and medications within scope of practice
- Document patient information accurately in the Epic electronic medical record system
- Maintain exam rooms equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly manner
- Support front office duties as needed including scheduling patient check-in/check-out and insurance verification
- Provide patient education and instructions according to provider orders
- Adhere to infection control safety and HIPAA guidelines
- Participate in team huddles and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Previous Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting
- Epic EMR experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certificate preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
