Job Description

Nurse Practitioner Surgery Permanent Role

Location: Dallas TX 75246
Shift: Full-time days 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Job Description & Essential Functions:
  • Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories
  • Order interpret and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe and manage drug therapies and therapeutic treatments
  • Formulate implement and evaluate patient treatment plans based on evidence-based practices
  • Counsel patients and families on disease management medications nutrition and health promotion
  • Maintain detailed records of patient treatment plans and outcomes
  • Provide consultation services related to specialty areas.
  • Manage patients in various healthcare settings (clinic inpatient ED)
  • Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice and under physician delegation
  • Follow up with patients pre- and post-operatively; may perform hospital rounds or emergency department consultations
  • May work beyond regular hours depending on departmental coverage needs
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong knowledge of medical diagnosis treatment and prevention
  • Skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Proficient in patient counseling and developing treatment plans
  • Competent in interpreting lab and diagnostic tests
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Competence with computers and health-related software
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited NP program
  • Experience: New grads welcome (less than 1 year of experience acceptable)
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Nurse Practitioner license in Texas (or compact state license)
    • Texas RN license (or compact state license)
    • Board certification as APRN in relevant population focus
    • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
